
The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT), led by Secretary Harold Msusa, in collaboration with the Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC), convened the Second Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for the Digital Malawi Acceleration Project (DMAP) in Zomba.
The meeting brought together senior government officials from the Department of eGovernment under MoICT, the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), the Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN), the National Registration Bureau (NRB), as well as representatives from the Ministries of Justice, Education, Finance, and Lands.
In his opening remarks, Msusa described DMAP as a key catalyst anchored in the Government’s policy agenda to modernize the public sector, strengthen digital governance, and unlock opportunities within the digital economy.
He emphasized the importance of transitioning from planning to implementation, urging committee members to ensure that project activities deliver tangible results, value for money, and clear alignment with national development priorities.
Echoing these sentiments, Principal Secretary for the Department of eGovernment, Prosper Mopiwa, emphasized the need to fast-track the implementation of DMAP activities to ensure the project achieves its intended development objectives within the planned timeframe.
Key highlights of the meeting included progress updates on DMAP implementation, as well as in-depth discussions on financial and procurement reports, safeguards obligations, applicable standards, and implementation arrangements.
The meeting provided a vital platform for collaboration and strategic dialogue among key digital sector stakeholders, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation and improving service delivery across all sectors of the economy.
